NIQS joins QTEC

NIQS joins QTEC to focus on the commercialisation of our next generation optical sensors.

QTEC is a world-leading pre-incubator for quantum inspired technologies and an EPSRC skills and training hub, which is part of the £270m UK national quantum technologies programme. QTEC offers a twelve-month fellowship to provide academics with the skills they need to run a successful technology company.

Since its inception in 2016, QTEC has supported the creation of 27 actives companies and a report in November 2019 showed that a third of the UK’s funded quantum start-ups originated at QTEC. To date, QTEC alumni companies have raised over £56m in equity, contract, and grant funding as well as creating over 170 new highly skilled jobs for the UK quantum work force.
